Outcomes of this nature, though sobering, provide strong basis for “nature in the city” policies and programs.

Nitpick:
Berman’s statement: “it’s not an accident that Central Park is in the middle of Manhattan. They needed to put a park there.” * But, at the time of the construction of Central Park, the park was at the edge of the city.
