After visitng Chicago over a dozen years ago and seeing it as it is today, I found the work inspired by Mayor Daley amazing in its breadth and depth. As far as I can tell, the Olympic Committee made a mistake in not selecting Chicago, a shining example of how a city can transform itself into a sustainable example of urban life.

Thank you, Mayor Daley, and thanks to your staff. When we visited Millenium Park with the designers, there were security guards who escorted us from the private event. As the gate was closed, the secuiry guard noted the rabbits who were enjoying feasting on the green roof. Then she noted the replacement plants that had been tried and named the botanical names. I was walking away; then I realized that she was so engaged with her surroundings, that she had studied the place that she protected. Reanishia Brackett was certainly an outstanding ambassador to your lovely city.
